Let’s get things straight

Firstly

If you’re asking the question, “what do I do next as an electrician” are you asking:

  • What service should I offer?
  • How do I make more profit?
  • How do I reduce costs?
  • How do I expand?
  • What job do I take next?

Any of the above ilk questions you ask yourself, really you’re not so much an electrician as a business person.

If you’re asking those things as a manager or leader in an electrical installation firm, then you’re a manager.

There are many podcasts getting us “sparkies” reorienting the mindset of tightening the terminal screws to tightening business practices.

I’m confused as both of these people. I’m relied on to know everything, to take the pressure of the problems and provide bountiful for those that reach out their hand in exchange for time or services. Sometimes I say, “I’m sick of it, you all can get lost.”

Dare I say that a handful of us think this? It may be why there are many stories of:

  • “He was a nice lad, but he never turned up”
  • “I’ve been trying to call her, but he’s just not picking up”
  • “The job was started but nobody returned to finish it off”
  • “He killed himself”

Sorry to curveball you with the last. Keep reading it’s not that kind of blog. ONS, HSE, Samaritans and more have data on bullet 4 topic if you’re interested. People care for you and me, so let’s carry on and look after them by making sure we’re OK.

Keep checking out the blog as I explore the questions above. Your comments might be helpful to others, so input if think its right.

Secondly

What are you asking one of the best questions:

“Ever since I was young, I wan’t to become an electrician – how do I become an electrician?”

It’s amazing, a good question to ask and needs some guidance.

This resource wants to help you.
